Jason Canton and Tango
2001 ABIC/USDF Region Three Fourth Level Champions

Jason Canton and TangoThe eight-year-old Tango a Holsteiner gelding owned by Julia Martin, scored at least 65% the past four times he has been out, in his first year of consistent showing, proving that he is going to be a force to be reckoned with. At the ABIC/USDF Region 3 Finals in The Georgia Horse Park in Conyers, he strutted his stuff and won the ABIC/USDF Region Three Fourth Level Open Championships.

Canton, who was long-listed for the 1992 Olympic Games on the stallion St. Tropez, says his goal now is to get Tango solid at the FEI levels. "He's very talented in the passage, and he's already schooling the one's, so he can definitely do Grand Prix someday," said Canton. "I want to keep him at Prix Saint George and I-1 for the next two years and do the Pan-Am selections with him." This winter he will try to qualify the bright chestnut Holsteiner gelding for next year's Festival of Champions in Gladstone, New Jersey.
