At WEG - U.S. Competes for Bronze Medal

U.S. chef d'equipe Jessica Ransenhausen said, "The fun begins when you talk about the bronze medal." Going into the Games, gold and silver were considered the property of Germany and the Netherlands. For the bronze, the U.S. team contended with Sweden, Denmark, Spain and France.

"The bronze depends on how the rides go that day," said Ransenhausen. "It could go one way or the other. That's what's exciting about this sport."

This time the U.S. ended team competition in fourth place, just 32 points behind Sweden. Although we broke our pattern of bronzes won in 1992 (Barcelona Olympics), 1994 (World Championship), and 1996 (Atlanta Olympics), our riders remained optimistic.
