July 22 1999 Everest, Best Ride Ever The American Senior 'Elite' Dressage tour finished their European
circuit as a team at the 1999 62nd CHIO Aachen, finishing fourth behind
Germany, The Netherlands, and Denmark. Robert Dover and the large liver chestnut Hannoverian Everest owned by Jane Clarke put in the best tests of their partnership there. Dover credits Sjef Janssen and Anky Van Grunsven and the time spent in training with them for the vast improvement the pair made following some admittedly disappointing performances. Kenn Acebal is currently spending the summer doing the same thing, with his horse Lennox, Dover's previous mount at The 1998 World Equestrian Games and The 1999 World Cup Final. |
