August 22 1999 Brooke Irving and her Appaloosa American Graffiti
From the
racetrack, to a career in Eventing to riding for the Region 6 1999 North
American Young Riders' Championships Dressage Team, Brooke Irving and
her Appaloosa Thoroughbred gelding, American Graffiti have come a long
way in just five years! From Gig Harbor Washington, this sophomore at St Martin's College is working towards a medical degree. In the meantime she has managed to train her horse mostly on her own, benefiting from her participation in three Conrad Schumacher clinics organized for American Young riders by the USDF. Some of her accomplishments have included qualifying for the AHSA Cosequin Junior Team Championships, and completing their "HA" rating in Pony Club, on their way to an "A" rating. "It has been quite an honor to make the NAYRC Region 6 Team on a 'backyard horse'. Hard work and dedication along with the great learning experience from the Schumacher clinics have paid off!"
