August 24 1999 Nicole Perry and Batido
Individual
bronze medallists at the 1999 North American Young Riders' Championships
were Nicole Perry and Batido. Perry, the 1998 individual silver medallist,
paired with Batido for the 1999 show season. By successfully competing
in the NAYRC qualifying tests at Rancho Murrieta, DG Bar Ranch, the Del
Mar National Horse Show and Dressage at Indio, Perry captured a spot in
the Region 7 Dressage Team. At the 1999 NAYRC 21 year old Nicole left
an impression by finishing second in the preliminary test scoring 64%.
With team mates Amanda Cargile, Jennifer Coyne and Stephanie Washburn,
Region 7 captured bronze in the Team Championships test. Nicole Perry,
who's being trained by her mother and Robert Dover, claimed the bronze
in the individual test by pushing Batido to a 67.53%. Dale and Linda Hackney of San Diego Sporthorses were kind to offer their Elite Hanoverian stallion Batido to Nicole Perry. Batido (by Bolero x Dirk) built up his dressage career under USET riders Guenter Seidel and Kathleen Raine, while the San Diego Sporthorses secured a large crop of offspring by putting him up for stud. "We are very lucky to have a young rider as talented and hard working as Nicole" Linda Hackney told DressageDaily while visiting Tempel Farms. We have a lovely young 5 year old stallion by Batido she is currently training as well." Contact Dale and Linda Hackney of San Diego Sporthorses at SDHorses@aol.com |
