August 28 1999 1999 NAYRC Dressage Team Gold - Region Three 
Breaking
the streak held by California's Region 7, the team from the opposite side
of the United States secured the Team Gold, ahead of Region 2's Silver,
and Region 7's Bronze. From left to right are Jodie Kelly of Destin, Florida who trains with Toin Hoefs and Anky van Grunsven of the Netherlands, sisters Gwen and Kate Poulin who train with parents Sharon and Michael, and Virgina Hewitt from Charleston, South Carolina who trains with Michelle Shaw-Folden. Gwen Poulin's winning ride in the Team Test August 14, 1999 on the talented Fuerst Paldi helped the average, as the competition stayed tight until the last scores of the day were in. Kate Poulin has been credited for spearheading fundraising efforts that helped get the team to Tempel Farms, in Wadsworth, Illinois. In all a noble effort, and an exciting week for the reigning Young Riders from the Southeast. |
