October 10 1999 Dutch Ladies Rule in German Classics Cup, Bremen
Bontje, the long time student and associate
of Young Rider symposium guru Conrad Schumacher, defeated the ruling European
Dressage Champion, Anky van Grunsven, in the Short Grand Prix test. Silvano
N (by Silvester) collected 71.02% while Partout had to be pleased with
70.29%. The "light" tendon injury, which took more than half a year to heal, seemed to have left no trace on Anky van Grunsven's Gestion TCN Partout. The Dutch dressage queen from Gemert, Holland, presented her approved Trakehner stallion for the first time after the injury in the German Classics Cup, which took place at the CDI Bremen from 1st till 3rd October 1999. The dark bay beauty by Arogno/T won the trophy in the Grand Prix freestyle setting a 78.49% score and creating a worthy distance with Dutch team mate Ellen Bontje who showed the Holsteiner Silvano N (by Silvester) to a 76.52%. The American Robert Dover also appeared in Bremen with the Hanoverian Everest. Dover, who was missed at Dressage at Devon in America as he was training and competing in Europe, placed 9th twice with 63.71% and 69.41% Results from Bremen by Astrid Appels |
