December 4 1999 Favre Leuba Sponsors Anky Van Grunsven 
Adding to the list of sponsors of one of
the world's leading dressage competitors Dutch rider Anky Van Grunsven,
is the watch manufacturer Favre Leuba. The oldest registered brand of
watches in the world is taking an aggressive marketing approach in representing
a dressage rider, an appropriate choice as dressage symbolizes the importance
of precise timing, rhythm, and accuracy. The contract was signed with Favre Leuba representative J. Crooijmans at the first press conference the opening day of CDI-W Amsterdam. With superstar status, Anky now has her name trademarked, and has recently launched her own line of clothing, shoes, tack, and blankets. Van Grunsven went on to win the FEI Prix St Georges with Gestion Joker a Hanoverian gelding by Prince Thatch, with a 70.79. Her World Cup Champion, equine partner Gestion Bonfire will compete in their first Freestyle competition since winning the European Championships in July.
