Robert Dover and Rainier
Making their
Palm Beach debut after joining forces in Holland this past October, were
Robert Dover and Rainier, an Oldenburg gelding by the stallion Rolando
(x Figaro). Bred by Ernst and Edith Fleithmann from Haschenbrok Germany,
the flashy dapple gray descends from an interesting bloodline sharing
the same dam as Isabell Werth's newest hit Aleppo S Old. It was their second Grand Prix performance after a winning ride in Orlando several weeks ago. "We are just getting the miles in since returning from Europe, " Dover told DressageDaily this past weekend. "I love riding this horse, and am very exited about him." Along with his other Grand Prix mount, Everest who gained valuable experience and confidence during his European tour, Robert Dover is set to begin the 2000 USET Olympic qualifiers. The first competition will kick off on the East Coast at Southern Comfort Dressage, in Orlando February 10-13. Former AHSA president and FEI official, Jane Clark, who has owned many great jumpers as well, owns both horses.
