July 12 2000 Rain Rain Go Away
The second
day of Aachen saw more of the same, rain, rain, and more rain. With showjumping
in a sea of mud, dressage riders got a reprieve of sorts, competitng in
the indoor for today only in the Prix St Georges, and Intermediare II.
The first half of the Grand Prix will begin at 8:30 Thursday morning, outdoors, rain or shine, with American rider Carrie Schopf competing on Ikhtisas, riding eleventh in the class. Some Americans spotted in the crowd today, were Bill Woods, Beth and Al Baumert, and James Fairclough who is competing in the driving competition Shown here is Monica Theodorescu and Grunnox TecRent a Hanoverian by Gruenwald out of an Absatz mare, taken in 1997 at Aachen also in the rain!
