German Olympic Team Announced at Aachen

Nadine Capellmann After the Grand Prix Special held today at the Aachen CHIO, the all female team for the German 2000 Dressage Olympic was announced, all finishing in the top five in a field of 25. Nadine Capellmann and her Westphalian, Farbenfroh by Freudentaenzer, rose to the winning position today with a 77.95%, with Alexandra Simons-de Ridder and her Holsteiner, Chacomo 3 by Calypso I, in second place at 77.16.

Reigning Olympic and World Champion Hanoverian, Gigolo FRH, by Graditz, missed the flying changes down the centerline to finish in third position, with a 76.56%. German team chef d'equipe acknowledged Werth was disappointed in today's performance, but nonetheless, are a strong force for the team. In fourth was Ulla Salzgeber's Rusty 47, who didn't forget there was something in the flower pot at H he didn't like during Friday's Grand Prix, and did a repeat performance of a major spook after the half pass to the left.

The reserve rider and fifth place finisher was Heike Kemmer and the Oldenburg Albano 7 by the sire Argetinius, looking stronger with each performance.
