August 7 2000 Labrucherie and Picone Win 2000 NAYRC Gold
After a year
off from competing at The North American Young Riders' Championships,
two times individual Gold Medallist Louise Labrucherie easily wins the
Gold Medal in 2000, this time, with a new horse. With her 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding Picone, ( by Prince Orac xx out of Wodena by Wolfsburg ) and the support from her family and coach, Debbie McDonald, LaBrucherie impressed the panel of judges at the FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale) placing first in all classes. Performing the Prix St George Freestyle to music for the first time in NAYRC history, she was able to mount the podium on the closing day of competition at High Prairie Farm, in Parker, Colorado to accept her Gold Medal. "Knowing that I was able to do this with two horses is the accomplishment that really means the most to me." LaBrucherie told DressageDaily.
