Reiber Rallies

Cherie Reiber and G Tudor Winning the very competitive Grand Prix Freestyle at Dressage at Devon Saturday evening Cherie Reiber and her 12-year-old KWPN gelding, G Tudor. Reiber missed out on her chance to ride as the selected American to compete at The 2000 World Cup Final last March in s'Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands, due to a lameness caused by a nail just six hours before the competition.

Her Freestyle created by her sister in law with Scottish music was new to her for the event, and worked well despite the fact that half way through her ride she lost a contact lens. "I saw it sitting on my lower eyelid, and hoped it would fall into the lapel of my jacket." Reiber said. "That's why during the ride I was looking down for a bit."

G Tudor who just came off of a long rest since the selection trials in Florida was fit and ready to go. "He kept himself in shape in the paddock playing with the young horses." Reiber said, admitting he was very tired after the long trip to Florida for the USET Olympic Selection Trails held last May, and deserved the rest.

Reiber works full time as a rider for Medieval Times in Canada, and does not compete on a regular basis in the Dressage circuit like most other FEI riders, but still manages to make her mark where it counts.
