October 6 2000 Shannon Oldham-Dueck and Korona Win At Devon
Riding for
Canada, Shannon Oldham-Dueck and her eight year old KWPN gelding, Korona
(by El Corona), were the 1999 Pan American Individual Silver Medalists.
In 2000 they moved smoothly into the Grand Prix level, winning the Grand
Prix Special at Dressage at Devon 2000. With her trainer Cathy Connelly
in town to help, Oldham-Dueck and Korona impressed the judges Sunday morning
placing her first in a field of twelve with a 64.233% Oldham-Dueck competed in eventing for years before turning her attention to dressage. In 1996, Shannon and Madison were long listed to the Canadian Dressage Team. Madison had lots of ring experience with Shannon's mother, Jacqui Oldham, who is also an FEI competitor and as well as a "S" level judge. Shannon has her B.Sc. in Animal Science from the University of British Columbia and her M.Sc. in Equine Science from Texas A & M University.
