Tuesday, July 24, 2001 Lisa Wilcox Enters Top Ten of the BCM FEI World Rider Rankings
Wilcox is currently competing at the Grand Prix level with Rohdiamant and Relevant, owned by Gundula Vorwerk. She has moved up the FEI rankings based on such recent accomplishments as winning the Grand Prix Championship with Relevant at CDI*** Zwolle, The Netherlands in March where she scored a 76.93% in the Grand Prix Freestyle. She was also second in the Grand Prix with Friedenfurst, owned by Merzdorf, with 71.68%. The following week at the Grand Prix at CDI*** in Dortmund, Germany, Wilcox placed third with Rohdiamant with a score of 72.74%.
This is an exciting and noteworthy accomplishment for Lisa as a rider and for the United States as a nation. We are very proud of her to have made it into the top ten among such renowned international competitors as the 2000 Olympic Bronze Medalist Ulla Salzeberg of Germany, who is ranked first on the list, and the Netherlands Anky Van Grunsven, who won the Individual Gold Medal at the 2000 Olympic Games, and is ranked second, said Maureen Pethick, USET Director of Dressage Activities. Wilcox recently commented, I am hoping to qualify for the World Equestrian Games in Spain. At this point I am qualifying both horses, Rohdiamant and Relevant, equally. I am also keeping Athens in mind in 2004 with several up and coming horses. Related
