Jane Cleveland Wins on Both Counts
With Both MountsEnigma and Kavalier

With quiet patience and determination, Jane Cleveland rode Enigma, (Ehrentusch / Anastasia), to win the Fourth Level AA Championships at the ABIC/USDF Region 3 Finals with 665.47%, then scored 64.125% to place second in the PSG Championship. Cleveland spent the winter qualifying the six-year-old Westphalian gelding for the Young Horse Championships at the CDI-W in Raleigh, NC in June. The strong bay placed fourth there and won the High Score award for Fourth level. More recently she took him to Dressage at Devon, where he placed fourth again in the test for six-year-olds.

Kavalier, her four-year-old Trakehner gelding, was typically excitable, with strong winds blowing dust clouds through the arena. But he held it together to score an impressive 70% and walked away with the First Level Championship. Cleveland plans to do the Young Horse classes with Kavalier next year.

She trains with Colombian dressage rider Marco Bernal, who is based in Wellington, Florida, but travels to Nashville to give clinics every couple of months. She also spent three weeks in Florida training and competing earlier this year.

Cleveland finds stress relief at the barn after overseeing real estate investments for the firmFirst Avenue Partners in Nashville. She says that riding her two horses after work balances her life. She has previously competed up to Intermediaire 2 with other horses, and says that her ultimate goal is to compete with both of her current horses at Grand Prix someday.
