NA/WPN New Member of WBFSH
The
General Assembly of the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH)
voted to accept the NA/WPN as a Member at their meeting in Verona, Italy
on October 31, 2001.
The WBFSH is an international Federation of Studbooks for Sport Horses
and is the major connection between the organizations breeding sport
horses and the FEI. In cooperation with the FEI, the WBFSH has organized
the World Breeding Championships for Sport Horses (WBCSH) in the Olympic
disciplines since 1992. The International Breeding Guide published annually
by WBFSH and Best Communication & Management provides official information
on studbooks as well as pedigrees of the leading sires, breeding rankings,
analysis and statistics.
Representatives from approximately 30 studbooks attended the two-day
meeting and seminar, and discussed many issues including international
comparison of sport horse stallions, data exchange, and semen standards.
Through use of the Universal Equine Life Number (UELN) and cooperation
between studbooks, the WBFSH hopes to develop a fully integrated system
of data evaluation.
