Kathleen Raine Accepts Seat on USA Equestrian Board

Kathleen Raine has accepted an appointment to the athlete position on the USA Equestrian Board of Directors vacated by Robert Dover's resignation. This appointment will be voted on by the full board at the 2002 USA Equestrian Annual Meeting, held January 9-13, 2002 at the Hilton Charlotte & Towers, Charlotte, North Carolina, or at its next meeting, should a special meeting be held earlier.

Alan F. Balch, USA Equestrian President said, "The Board of Directors will be very fortunate to welcome an athlete of Kathleen's stature and background. We are very pleased she has accepted the responsibility to serve the sport and her fellow athletes."

Raine was the first alternate for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, helped the US win the team Bronze for the Dressage World Championship at the 1994 World Equestrian Games in Holland and was the U.S. League Final Reserve Champion in 1994 finishing sixth overall at the Dressage World Cup Final in Gothenburg, Sweden. Raine is also a member of the USA Equestrian Dressage Committee.
