2002 Wellington Dressage

Yvonne Barteau and San Remo High Score at First Level

Yvonne Barteau and San RemoDressage competition at the Cosequin Winter Equestrian Festival kicked off with the Wellington Dressage Show, January 31 to February 3 at Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club in Wellington, Florida. Held over four days, the four-ring show hosted more than 200 exhibitors and over 400 rides were judged. Yvonne Barteau of Wellington, riding San Remo owned by Elite European Sport Horses, earned the show's high score with a 76.471% in First Level, Test 4. San Remo is a five-year-old Hanoverian gelding by Sherlock Holmes out of a Wiebke mare.

Stabled in Loxahatchee, Florida at Ingrid Pollock's White Fences, Barteau qualified San Remo for the 2001 World Championships for Young Horses, but chose to take it slow and develop his talent. In training with her Florida neighbor Carol Lavell, the young horse continues to develop and mature, as the pair demonstrated this weekend.
