Arlene Page and Claire Have Arrived at Grand Prix

Dressage competitors had the Wellington show grounds to themselves this weekend, with the jumper population moving to Tampa for the two weeks surrounding the American Invitational. The winter winds subsided as the temperatures moved into the upper 80's, for the WEF Dressage Classic CDI***/Y, March 14 -17, 2002.

In their first outing of the season Arlene Page and Claire, the ten-year-old Holsteiner mare by Cassini, made a winning debut in the Grand Prix Special in the golden light of the Saturday afternoon.

In training all winter with Klaus Balkenhol, and assisted by her eyes on the ground, Oded Shimoni, the physical change in this brilliant mare was striking, as her body has developed into the muscular frame needed for the demands of that level.
