Vechta Oldenburg Auction Sells Highest Priced Horse, Der Euro, To America's Highlife Farms

Highlife Farms' Joan Sims purchased Der Euro (now renamed Damascus) from the Vechta Oldenburg auction, held in Germany the first week in April. The highest priced horse, a gelding, at the auction went for 300,000 euro, the second highest priced horse ever for the Vechta Auction sales. The 4-year- old gelding is by Don Schufro, a Donnerhall son.

The highest bidder, Highlife Farms of Orlando Florida, outbid several countries vying for the freakishly brilliant mover who was listed number 1 in the sales catalogue.

In addition, Highlife Farms purchased 7 other horses including quality broodmares currently in foal to some of Germany's top breeding stallions.
