Region 3 Championships From the Home State of South Carolina - Scott Peterson and Meghan McCoy "This horse is really special," Peterson said. "We have a great chemistry." The Blythewood, S.C. trainer has had the horse in his barn two years, for two different owners. Reserve champion to Joey in the PSG was Lestera (Gigi Nutter), and both horses are by the same sire, Chronos. "I've only had him 2 months, and he was not fit at all when we got him," McCoy said of her 11-year old Oldenburg gelding. "This was our first show, and we had a horrible warmup. I was crying, going into the first test. But when we went in, his ears came forward, he loved everyone watching him. He puffed up, and we pulled it together. Then when I heard the score I couldn't believe it!" McCoy also won the USAE Junior Dressage Seat Equitation Semi-Finals. She lives in Camden, only ten minutes from the show grounds. Her dad is a veterinarian, and they keep "lots of animals" at home. She trains with Amy McElroy of Aiken, S.C. Stay Tuned to DressageDaily this week, as we continue our coverage of the Region 3 Finals. |
