Tuesday, February 10, 2004 Silke Rembacz and Millennium Win Highlife Cup
“I am so lucky.” said a humble Rembacz. “I have the greatest owners, and both the Rothwell’s and the Sim’s root for each other, even when their horses are in the same division.” But is also a result of Rembacz’s talent as a rider, and professionalism as a trainer that earned her the opportunity to have a top horse vying for the PSG/I1 USET Championships. A native of Germany, Rembacz earned her US citizenship two years ago. She trains with Cathy Connelly who found Millennium with her partner Toin Hoefs in Holland. Given to Rembacz to sell, Silke “fell in love, and had to have him” and Kim and Joanne Rothwell stepped up to the plate to make sure the pair stayed together. Reserve Champions was Sabine Schutt-Kerry on Proud Meadow's Friesan Stallion Tinius. Schutt-Kerry is competeing the stallion in Florida for the first part of the winter season, and then will be headed to California, for the remainder of the winter. |
