Monday, November 1, 2004 In Memoriam – Flim Flam
Flim Flam appeared on the first ever DressageDaily.com page June 19, 1998, had since graced our pages many times throughout the years. With his life partner, Sue Blinks the duo were a team as no other we have witnessed in dressage. The fine boned bay gelding with large expressive eyes, was sensitive and sometimes explosive, but Blinks understood him and nurtured not only his physical being, but also his delicate psyche. Flim Flam contributed to her depth as a rider and trainer as no other horse could have, as the methodical and thorough approach his training required gave her the experience of a lifetime. In 2004 Flim Flam retired, and was due to move with Sue in to California the end of October. It was during a colic surgery October 28; he had an apparent ruptured stomach, which contributed to his death. All of us here at DressageDaily and all of Flim Flam’s many fans and admirers mourn the passing of a truly courageous and brilliant star that did so much for United States Dressage. Our sympathies to Sue and the Kundruns, and the US Dressage Team for their loss. Condolences
