Monday, December 13, 2004 Markel Insurance Signs On as Title Sponsor for USEF Young Horse Dressage Program
“It was a natural for us to be interested in the Young Horse Dressage Program,” says John Seger, Director of Agent Development for Markel. “We really love dressage, and I think it’s important to recognize the ability Americans have to train young dressage horses. Trainers should consider U.S. trained dressage horses as viable options when they’re buying horses for their clients.” Developed in 2001, the USEF Young Horse Program promotes the importance of selective breeding and professional training of horses in the United States, and encourages breeders, riders, and trainers of young horses (5 and 6 year olds) in dressage. Modeled after similar successful programs in Europe, the U.S. Program encourages the development of young dressage prospects through stages of training, preparing them for a future career at the FEI level. “I support this program and am excited about it,” Seger says. “We’re very pleased to be a sponsor of the USEF. It’s a vital part of the equestrian community.” Stay tuned to DressageDaily.com providing extensive coverage in 2005 of the USEF/Markel National Young Horse Dressage Trials and Championships. Related
