the Scene at DG Bar Dressage Show Features Markel High Point Series Jeremy Steinberg and Parrocco Win High Performance Grand Prix
Leading the High Performance Grand Prix with a 69.722% was Jeremy Steinberg and Parrocco, a 17-year-old Württemberg by Phillipo. Sadly, this high score wasn’t enough to secure the pair a position at Gladstone next month, as they were unable to get their two foreign qualifying “O” scores. This didn’t seem to get Steinberg down. When asked about his ride, the handsome yet humble Steinberg grinned, “My whole year just kinda came together in this test as far as the balance of the tension and relaxation. Parrocco’s completely reliable and he never lets me down. If anything goes wrong it’s me.” Equally excited with her Intermediate I Freestyle results was Barbie Breen-Gurley on her 10 year old Dutch partner Octango by Contango and ironically enough a DG Bar sale horse from years back. “The DeGroot’s are so generous and I highly respect them. They are of the highest integrity and a bonus to the equine industry.” Breen-Gurley stated with Octango in tow, donning his Reserve Champion sash and ribbon. Breen-Gurley and Octango received a 71.792% and were surpassed only with an impressive ride by Nicole Perry atop Calypso Star 2 scoring a 74.125%. |
