US Dressage Riders Shine in Elmlohe

Five Out of Top Six at German National Show Show Team Strength for the 2006 World Equestrian Games

In their first outing since arriving in Germany several of the US Short listed riders competed at a charming National Show in Elmlohe. American Dressage superstars Debbie McDonald and Brentina were victorious in the Grand Prix with a 76.42, showing their strength in training, and conditioning in the unusual record breaking heat which is sweeping the world. "We were all very happy to get the remarks from five top judges. One of them being Heinz Lemmermann who just judged the German Championships." Debbie writes DressageDaily. "I won't be doing the Grand Prix Special on Sunday she added. "I just wanted to get back in the ring since it has been awhile. As it stands right now all of us except for Gunter and Steffen will do Verden next weekend."

And it was five Americans out of the top six that held the leader boards dispelling any doubts that we have a powerhouse group over there in training with Klaus Balkenhol, and preparing for next week in Verden, where there is also the FEI Young Dressage Horse Championships.
