In Prix St. Georges competition, Jennifer Hoffman and Farinelli were big winners. In Friday’s class, Hoffman won the class with a 68 percent aboard Susan Walker’s Farinelli, a nine-year-old gelding by Florestan out of a Weltmeyer mare. The pair also won Saturday’s Developing Horse Prix St. Georges class, sponsored by Olivewood Farms, with a 69.546 percent.

Jurgen Hoffman, Jennifer’s husband and coach, chose Farinelli and imported him as a six year old after the gelding had made the small final at the Bundeschampionade at age five.

“We bought him with Susan in view. Susan will take over next year and do the Young Riders with him. He is the caliber of horse that can go on after that to Grand Prix.,” he said.

Hoffman is putting the FEI training and show experience on Farinelli, who placed fourth overall in the Developing Horse Prix St. Georges in Kentucky last summer.

Her goal for Farinelli this year is to qualify again for the USEF Kentucky Young Horse Finals as well as for the National Dressage Championships for Intermediaire, scheduled to be held in San Juan Capistrano in June.
