Dressage in California - Del Mar National Horse Show Dressage CDI Contenders for the USEF/Markel National Young Dressage Horse Championships Shine at Del Mar CDI The win was especially sweet for Jen as she remarked that “Magic gave me first for my birthday!” Jen and husband Bruce, who traveled from Boulder, Colorado to support the Peters’ team at the Del Mar National, enjoy watching the progress in their horse.
Jen said she purchased him without seeing him in person and told Shannon, “If you think he’s the right horse, that’s good enough for me.” Magic is currently rated second in the nation in the FEI Six-Year-Old competition and will compete at the upcoming Flintridge Riding Club USEF/Markel Western Regional Finals in May and from there go onto Kentucky in September for the USEF/Markel National Young Dressage Horse Championships. Shannon is extremely excited about this young horse and feels he definitely has the potential to go on to the Grand Prix.
The “team” is made up of rider/trainer Sandy Burns Gardner, Kathy Schack and Jeanne Burns who together operate Savoir Faire Stables in San Marcos. Hit Parade SFS is by Showstar and is out of Esprina. The sisters imported him as a three-year-old and have methodically developed him along as a dressage horse and breeding stallion. His offspring have led the nation as top colts and fillies. Sandy is delighted with Hit Parade as he won both Thursday’s Six-Year-Old Preliminary Test with an 8.0 and Friday’s Final Test with a 7.78. Results for the Del Mar National Horse Show Dressage CDI |
