He is a beautiful type with three spectacular gaits that show tremendous power from behind. He has the natural ability to sit and the freedom in the shoulder that allows for outstanding expression and breathtaking movement. In 2004, Uptown was the Champion of the KWPN Stallion Show in s'Hertogenbosch. He went on to win the 70 Day Stallion Test in the same year. Under Hans Peter Minderhoud's guidance, Uptown began the KWPN Sport Horse Competition and won the renowned PAVO Cup for 4-year-olds (This is the German equivalent of the Bundeschampionat). Uptown then went on to dominate the 2004/2005 KWPN Stallion Show Circuit.

In 2006, Uptown placed fifth in the Young Horse World Championships in Verden, Germany, in the Five-Year-Old Division. He was the Reserve Championship at the KWPN PAVO Cup as well as winning the Reserve Championship at the 2006 KWPN Stallion Show at M Level. The Uptown Partnership was and will always remain grateful to Hans Peter Minderhoud for his amazing and memorable performances with Uptown.

Uptown is an impressive stallion that passes on his movement and style to his offspring. From the KWPN Foal Report: "Uptown showed a uniform collection of very well-developed, very riding type, long-legged foals that stand in good rectangular model. The foals move uphill with much impulsion and suppleness. The head is expressive. The poll has more than sufficient length. The neck has good length, shape and muscling. The wither has good length and development. The shoulder has more than sufficient length and development. The back has good length and muscling. The croup has good length, position and muscling. The hamstring is long and well-developed. The walk has good scope and suppleness. The foals trot uphill with much suppleness, good self-carriage and balance. The canter is carried and has much impulsion. In movement the foals are good at changes and appear to be sensible."

Uptown has two Approved sons to date - Bojengel (Uptown x Gribaldi) and Calm Pleasure (Uptown x Jazz). Uptown is Licensed for breeding with the KWPN, Oldenburg, Westphalia and all southern German associations. Now available via Frozen Semen through Yancey Farms in Ocala, FL - 800-867-7021.

Viva Las Vegas! Elvis (Guenter Seidel) and one of his "showgirls" Elizabeth Ball (Photo: © Mary Phelps) If he ever decides to forego dressage, Guenter Seidel might have a career in show business. Dressed as Elvis, the three-time Olympian brought down the house in a “Viva Las Vegas” quadrille featuring his three “showgirls”: Elizabeth Ball, Michelle Reilly and Sarah Christy at the 2015 Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage Final Dressage Showcase. California-based fashion and costume designer Melanie Sommer worked for two months to put together the elaborate fire-engine red costumes, which had tall feathered headdresses, bustiers and red sequined boots. The midday showcase kicked off with an Intermediare I Freestyle featuring Sabine Schut-Kery riding Alice Womble-Heitmann’s expressive Hanoveri...

The 2015 World Cup Finals' podium: Edward Gal, Charlotte Dujardin, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl There was no surprise and no challenge for Charlotte Dujardin to reclaim her world cup title as she cruised to victory in the Kur to Music at the 2015 World Cup Finals in Las Vegas on Saturday 18 April 2015. After earning her first World Cup title in 2014 in Lyon, Dujardin extended the honour this year and shared the World Cup podium with Dutch Edward Gal and German Jessica von Bredow-Werndl. Charlotte Dujardin put in an immaculate ride to her much beloved music based on the Disney animated movie How to Train Your Dragon. Valegro is a very lightfooted mover despite being a musled athlete. They handily won the Grand Prix, with the 13-year-old Dutch gelding showing little evidence of the jet lag that had affected him after his arrival in Las Vegas. Their score of 85.414 percent was a few points shy of their world record-setting score of 87.460, but Dujardin was pleased nevertheless. “It’s just a mass of excitement for me to come here and take part,” she said....

The billboard leads the way to the MGM Grand Hotel host of the Welcome Party and draw for today's competition. Photo: Mary Phelps While Charlotte Dujardin does admit Valegro seems a bit jet lagged, and "felt a little flat today" in the warm up, day five of the long trip is predictably the toughest day for the horses who have travelled so far, and are in an environment even Valegro in all of his travels has never seen. That said the number on dressage horse of all time, is the poster child of the Las Vegas promotion for the Reem Acra/FEY World Cup Final, Las Vegas.
