USEF Announces Riders for the 2014 Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage Final

Lexington, Ky.- The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) will be represented by two combinations at the 2014 Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage Final in Lyon, France April 17-21, both having qualified from the North American League. The following combinations qualified during World Cup Qualifying Events held throughout the 2013-2014 season:

Tina Konyot (Palm City, Fla.) will ride her own Calecto V. Calecto V is a 1998 Danish Warmblood stallion.

Konyot was first named to the U.S. team short list in 2004 Olympic Games and has become a fixture in team competitions. In 2010, Konyot and Calecto V represented the U.S. at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Lexington, Ky., helping the team to a fourth-place finish. The pair maintained its form and traveled to London for the 2012 Olympic Games, earning a sixth-place finish with the U.S. team. In February, they helped the U.S. to a top podium finish at the Wellington CDIO3* presented by Stillpoint Farm in addition to earning a third-place finish in the Freestyle.

Cesar Parra (Whitehouse Station, N.J.) will ride Michael and Sarah Davis' Van the Man. Van the Man is a 2002 Dutch Warmblood gelding

Originally from Colombia, Parra represented in his native country at the Olympic Games, FEI World Equestrian Games, Pan American Games, and FEI World Cup Finals. In 2009, he began riding as an American and went on to represent the U.S. at the 2011 Pan American Games, where the United States took home Team Gold. Parra and Van the Man have gained a strong partnership over the years and recently sixth in the Freestyle at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival CDI-W sponsored by Today's Equestrian and GF Enterprises, LLC.

Charlotte Dujardin and Valergro, Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage Final 2015 Photo: © Mary Phelps On a day that saw many of the world’s top horses and riders go head to head at the 2015 Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage Final, defending champions Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro (Negro x Gerschwin) shrugged off the pressure that comes with being the world’s number one combination and did what everyone expected them to do. They handily won the Grand Prix, with the 13-year-old Dutch gelding showing little evidence of the jet lag that had affected him after his arrival in Las Vegas. McCall) El Dorado Hills, CA - On December 19, 2014, the Dressage Community lost friend, volunteer, and parent Nora Grassmyer after a three year battle with bladder cancer. Nora was heavily involved with the Dressage and Para-Dressage disciplines both internationally and at the national level. She was also a longtime volunteer at the California Dressage shows managed by Connie Davenport. Nora was a driving force behind her daughter and Paralympian Barbara Grassmyer. Rebecca Hart and Schroeters Romani rode to the high score of 78.382% during the Polar Express Show at White Fences. Wellington, FL - Rebecca Hart and Schroeters Romani shined Saturday afternoon during the Polar Express show held at the White Fences Equestrian Center in Loxahatchee, Florida. The talented duo rode to the score of 78.382 percent for the FEI Para Team Grade II test during the national show, kick starting their season as they prepare for the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in CPEDI3* in January 2015.Hart traveled to Florida in early December to work with Wellington-based international dressage trainer Todd Flettrich out of Cherry Knoll Farm, which is also a partial owner of Romani. Seventeen-year-old Collier is a talented Para-Equestrian who competed at the international level in 2014, including the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. A native of Ann Arbor, Mich., she was diagnosed at the age of seven with a rare congenital birth defect called Wyburn-Mason Syndrome.
